Waverly Park Elementary School

With backpacks packed and pencils sharpened, Lynbrook elementary schoolers at Marion Street, West End and Waverly Park returned ready for a new year. 

Fresh graduates from the Kindergarten Center arrived for their first day of first grade, greeted with open arms by their teachers and staff. Ice breakers helped alleviate nerves as peers learned each other’s names and favorite interests. Returning students met their new teacher and classmates, excited to fly forward into an exciting year. Some classes started the day with a scavenger hunt to learn the layout of their new learning spaces, while first graders took tours of their new buildings. The successful day is the first of many for the students of Lynbrook Schools.
